I FOUND A SONDE TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!!
Sept. 1..I looked at where the morning weather balloon had landed and it was in a strawberry field
in town about 5 miles away so I headed out there. At first I thought it had already
been found but I drove down the road a bit and there it was laying on the plastic
and parachute in the parking area for the tractors.
Grabed it all and headed home. Very easy and cool my first one....

Sept. 2..Looked on the map for the morning balloon and it was in a valley about 10 miles from home.
Loaded the coordinates in my app, grabbed my HT and headed that way. Started hearing the sonde and as
I turned a corner there was the parachute laying off the road about 10'. The sonde was 20' away in some
weeds. Gathered everything up and tried to report the find but no cell service. Waited till I got
down the road a bit then reported my second find in two days. Cool beans........

MY GIZMO BOX
This is not a ham radio thing. It's for my Geocaching hobby where I go by the name
Rosco Bookbinder. People come by and answer some questions, flip the switches, light the lights
that show numbers to the final coordinates to a hidden cache.
It's just for fun and something different. I want to thank Perry WB7NIL and Eric N0NQU
(Sorry Eric I called you Cliff in the vid)for their help on wiring the switches. That was a bit beyond me but
with their help it all worked out great. Click the pic below for a short video on my project....

ISS SOLAR TRANSISTION
On Labor Day 9-4-17 I drove up the hill with camera and sun filter
ready to take video of ISS crossing the sun.
As luck would have it we had clouds and it was iffy but I hung out till the predicted time.
The clouds parted just a bit, some still crossing but I did get the video.
With this pass only .66 seconds in front of the sun it was a blur for sure.
If you look close about 3 seconds into the video
you will see ISS coming from around 11:30 down to 7. And this is at half speed...
Also got some nice sun spots in the video.

I am fortunate to live 45 min from Vandenburg
AFB and from time to time I go out to watch one of the rocket launches.
Here is a short video I took of a Falcon 9 SpaceX launch on May 22, 2018.
