I Made A 440mhz Yagi Tape Measure Antenna
I was looking to build a receive only antenna for hunting down weather
balloons and found some fantastic plans on the Hurst Amateur Radio Club website.
Using PVC, a metal tape measure, some wire zip ties and coax it took about an hour to build.
AND IT WORKS GREAT!

From time to time the astronauts on the International Space Station
send SSTV (slow scan tv) pictures down to earth.
With just about any antenna and a radio tuned to 145.800 MHz
and a software program like MMSTV you
can also capture the ones like below.
Audio from the radio into
your computer and that's it.
